Welcome to Pacific Women's Healthcare Associates!

Dear Patient,

As always, your health is of utmost importance in these unprecedented times. Here at PACWHA we are striving to continue a safe and calm environment for everyone including patients, staff and visitors. Starting 2 weeks ago we implemented precautions to minimize the risk of exposing anyone to COVID-19, however, as information continues to come in and we respond to recommendations the most important thing we can do is social distancing to decrease the burden on our health care system. For that, we need your help.

We have stopped all visitors to our office for ultrasound and visits.  We will try to minimize the number of people in our waiting room, if it is crowded and you prefer to wait in your car we can call you as soon as a room is available. Hoag Hospital is currently limiting visitors to 1 per patient, so please plan accordingly if you are delivering in the next few weeks. We strongly support this and feel it is in everyone's best interest.

All non-essential visits may be rescheduled after May, we have started doing many visits via telemedicine. If you have an appt and need to reschedule, don't worry we will call you. If you need medication refills including birth control and hormone replacement therapy, we will send a refill. We will do our best to accommodate the increase in patients after this crisis passes. If you have an infection or other non-urgent issue, we will call you and attempt to do as much as possible through telemedicine.

Hoag, the CDC and the American College of Obstetrician Gynecologists have put in place a testing algorithm for COVID-19. Tests are restricted to patients who are high risk (recent travel to affected countries or close contact with an individual with known COVID-19). Please call the office if you believe you meet this criteria and we can help facilitate testing at Hoag Urgent Care or Public health department for testing in the safest manner possible. PLEASE DO NOT COME TO THE OFFICE.

Again, it is imperative, if you are ill to not come to our office to keep it a safe environment. If you have a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath please call us before you come in.

We know these are stressful times, rest assured we are working hard to obtain new information and are working with the hospital to continue to provide the best obstetrical care possible. The data regarding pregnancy is sparse, but looks reassuring. Continue frequent, thorough hand washing, social distancing, and staying home as much as possible. Please cancel all social events and potential exposures, most employers are already doing this but we encourage you to work from home as much as possible. Routine prenatal care should not be interrupted and we look forward to seeing you soon and continue to provide support through these unusual and stressful times.

Sincerely,

PACWHA
